Description

The sacred herb used as the protective amulets or concocted for the invincible potion from the ancient time in Thai, Phlai or Zingiber Cassumunar is a species of plant in ginger family which has different local names in each region such as “wan-fai” in Isan or bpulai in the north and even ponlei in Cambodia. As the relative of galangal, in ethnobotany Phlai with sweet aroma of ginger but cooler is attributed with specific medical virtues while a Japanese study around 1991 suggested the benefits in anti-inflammatory due to the concentration of antioxidants.

Long regarded by Thai massage therapists as one of the oils necessary for traditional Herbal Ball compress to induce deep relaxation, relieve stress and improve blood & lymph circulation, recently Phlai oil obtained by distillation method widely provides benefits in cosmetics as well.

ในตำรับนวดไทยแผนโบราณ ไพลเป็นหนึ่งในส่วนผสมสำคัญของการทำลูกประคบผ่อนคลายความเครียดทางกล้ามเนื้อ และจิตใจ ช่วยฟื้นฟูการไหลเวียนของโลหิต และน้ำเหลือง ปัจจุบัน น้ำมันสกัดจากไพลด้วยกระบวนการต้มกลั่น ถูกนำมาใช้ในวงการเครื่องสำอางด้วยเช่นกัน

Storage

Keep in a tightly closed and dark glass or aluminium container and store at temperature below 20 °C. Avoid the direct sunlight or exposure to high voltage electrical lighting. After opening, use up as early as possible.

Cautions

Generally Nontoxic, non-irritant, nonsensitizing. However, in concentration can irritate the skin. Should be diluted before apply on skin.
